Celebrate Quality First's 5th Anniversary!

Quality First became a breath of fresh air at my small facility…Quality First means the residents can expect that staff will try their hardest to make their day and be there for them.

- Michael D. Moore, President/CEO
United Presbyterian Home, Washington, Iowa

It's been five years since AAHSA launched Quality First and its still going strong - encouraging members everywhere to take the leap, sign the Covenant and put quality first in aging services.

The longevity, sustainability and continuity of Quality First made it credible with federal and state policy makers. Quality First moved the conversation away from "crime and punishment" to "quality and innovation."

Quality First has also spurred the Advancing Excellence in America's Nursing Homes campaign, designed to improve quality of life for residents and staff.

Through Quality First, we work in partnership with all stakeholders - government, consumers and the people we serve and their families - to create quality of care and quality of life in aging services.

AAHSA members across the continuum of aging services are actively involved with Quality First: adult day services, home health, community services, senior housing, assisted living residences, continuing care retirement communities, and nursing homes. AAHSA's commitment is to create the future of aging services through quality people can trust.

Below you will find Quality First stories from providers and residents, as well as resources for your organization to highlight the fifth anniversary of Quality First.
