AAHSA Selects 2006 Board of Directors

WASHINGTON, DC – The American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) recently announced that 21 leaders from the aging-services field will serve as members of the association’s 2006 board of directors.

AAHSA’s board of directors is responsible for the governance of the association, providing strategic direction, fiduciary oversight and development of policies. These individuals, who represent not-for-profit organizations across the continuum of aging services, serve a three-year term that is renewable for a second three years.

Margaret Mullan of The Beatitudes Campus, a continuing care retirement community in Phoenix, Ariz., will serve as chair of the board. The following individuals will serve with Mullan as board members:

Thomas W. Slemmer - Chair Elect - National Church Residences, Columbus, Ohio
Dr. William T. Smith - Immediate Past Chair – Aging in America, Bronx, N.Y.
Patricia E. Sprigg - Secretary - Carol Woods Retirement Community, Chapel Hill, N.C.
David M. Gehm, Treasurer – Lutheran Homes of Michigan, Frankenmuth, Mich.
Randy Fitzgerald - Good Samaritan Society, Windsor, Colo.
Rev. Willie Gable, Jr., D.Min. - National Baptist Convention, New Orleans, La.
Drew Gackenheimer - Joseph L. Morse Geriatric Center, Inc. West Palm Beach, Fla.
Bonnie Gauthier – Hebrew Health Care, Inc., Hartford, Conn.
Charles W. Gould – Volunteers of America, Alexandria, Va.
Lee Ann Hubanks - Plano Community Home, Inc., Plano, Tex.
James M. Leich – Indiana Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, Indianapolis, Ind.
Larry Mabry - Brittany Pointe Estates, Lansdale, Pa.
Connie S. March-Curtis - Provena Senior Services, Mokena, Ill.
Winthrop F. Marshall - Christian Church Homes of Northern California, Oakland, Calif.
Michael D. Moore - United Presbyterian Home, Washington, Iowa
William M. Pierce - Baptist Retirement Communities, Oklahoma City, Okla.
Jill A. Schumann – Lutheran Services in America, Baltimore, Md.
Barbara W. Thomas – Kendal at Oberlin, Oberlin, Ohio
Mary Anna Womeldorf - McKendree Village, Hermitage, Tenn.
Jean B. Wright - The Sequoias, San Francisco, Calif.
