The Honorable
Edward Kennedy
317 Russell Senate Office
Building
United States Senate
Washington, DC 20510
Dear Senator
Kennedy:
My name is XX and I am the xx of xx in xx. I am writing to
thank you for your tireless commitment to meeting the needs of America’s
elderly and disabled populations through the Community Living Assistance
Services and Supports (CLASS) Act of 2009.
America’s long-term services and
support system is fragmented, difficult and expensive. It affects not only
people and their families, but also government programs, the medical profession
and the economy as a whole. It is simply unaffordable to care.
The CLASS Act represents a critical step toward solving the
problem by empowering individuals to stay independent and remain in their communities.
It outlines a
system that is based on choice, responsibility and fairness. And it is a system
that will help millions people like the xx I serve in our state to have the
quality of life they deserve.
I look forward to working with you on a comprehensive and
badly needed reform of our entire health care system that will address
long-term services and supports. Working together, we will make it affordable
to care.
Sincerely,
XX
