AAHSA's mission-driven, not-for-profit members serve two million older adults every day. Unlike other providers, our members are accountable to community-based volunteers, not corporate investors. Their resources are not used to increase company value, but to improve staffing, renovate facilities, enhance services, and most important ensure consumer and staff satisfaction. And it makes a difference.

Federal research shows that not-for-profit nursing homes provide better staffing ratios and higher quality to the people they serve, and Consumer Reports recommends not-for-profit nursing homes over others when seeking quality care. In other parts of the continuum of care, AAHSA members are leaders in providing innovative services and devising new offerings to meet the needs of their communities.
