Long Term Strategies

  • Identify 40 outstanding preceptors from the AAHSA membership who offer graduate fellowship programs.
  • Create relationships with 10 universities to identify students with leadership potential seeking fellowships.
  • Have human-interest stories regarding preceptors and students with published monthly in AAHSA publications to spur on other national and local publications to continue attracting students to our universities, continue to encourage the development of new fellowship opportunities, and to spur on other national and local publications.
  • Have Annual Meeting recognition for outstanding preceptors and students.
  • Identify strategies for AAHSA members to develop relationships with their local academic institutions.
  • Show models of ways to get very new people exposed to the aging services field through innovative examples shared by AAHSA members.
  • Create a forum for ongoing networking for new Administrators in the field.
