The aging and disability communities have chosen Tuesday, Jan. 26, as a National Call-In Day for members of Congress to hear from voters that health care reform should be passed as soon as possible.
Please call (800) 828-0498 to reach the Washington, D.C., office of your representative and your two senators.
Members of Congress need to hear from you NOW about the need to complete health care reform, including the CLASS Act and Medicaid home and community based services improvements.
Every representative and senator must hear our message.
Spread the Message
- Plan an event: Try hosting a call-in day event or go around your office encouraging people to call.
- Post a blog: The blogosphere is great place for telling others about your call-in efforts. AAHSA will be posting updates on our Future of Aging blog.
- Twitter: Tweet about AAHSA Call-In Day and we'll display your message on our blog. Simply add the hash tag #AAHSAcall to your tweet.
- Use Social Media sites: Message your friends on Facebook and LinkedIn. Join our Facebook event page and invite more people.
You can use sample script below to make sure your voice is heard. In critical times, members of Congress are attuned to what their constituents want. Your call can make a difference.
Sample Script
Hello. I am calling to tell Sen./Rep. ___________________ that the time for Congress to pass meaningful health care reform that includes the CLASS Act, Medicare payment updates for nursing homes and home health providers, and improvements in Medicaid home and community based services. Elders, people with disabilities, and all American families cannot wait any longer for relief.
